In conjunction with World Book Day, Cousteau School celebrated books all week long, from April 13 to 17!
A Contest:
The library was wonderfully decorated based on the world of a mystery character that students had to guess… The students participated in a treasure hunt, following clues to uncover the mystery word and the mystery character. The winner of the contest was drawn by lottery on Friday. Congratulations to everyone who guessed the correct answer: Tintin!
Webradio Shows:
The Webradio Club interviewed students, teachers, and staff about their reading preferences and habits. These lively clips were played in classrooms throughout the week.
Reading sessions, book presentations, and students in costume:
In addition to reading sessions in the library, students participated in a 15-minute independent reading period in their classrooms.
On Friday, students came dressed as characters from their favorite books, which they presented in class.
And a community event:
To wrap up the week, the Parent Action Committee organized an event on Friday after school, featuring a book sale and a book exchange. Thank you to the parents for their enthusiasm and participation!
