The Admissions Process in 5 steps
Step 1: Discover Cousteau School
Start by exploring our website for information about our school, our values, our school project, fees, and criteria for admission.
Visit our school during an Open House or a private tour to experience Cousteau’s difference for yourself.
Let us know you’re interested in Cousteau School by submitting an inquiry. We will reach out to provide additional information, and answer any questions you may have.
Step 2: Submit an application
Once you have decided to pursue admission to Cousteau School, complete our online application.
At this step, you will be asked:
-the reasons for your interest in the school;
-payment of application fees ($150);
-your child’s latest report cards – if applying in Grade 1 onwards;
-your child’s individual education plan, if applicable.
Step 3: Schedule an assessment
The applicants for an entry in Kindergarten, Elementary, and Middle School are required to take a placement test to determine their potential for success within our school.
The applicants coming from a school teaching the curriculum from France, and certified by the French Ministry of Education, are exempt from the placement test.
The applicants for an entry into Pre-K2, Pre-K3 or Pre-K4 are not required to take a placement test.
Step 4: Meet with us
Parents will be invited to meet with a member of our admissions/leadership team for a personal interview.
Step 5: Decision
Student selection is based on both academic and non-academic considerations.
These include in particular:
-the family support for the project and the values of the school;
-the availability of space and class composition at the grade level requested.
