Our Journey: Building a Vision of Education
In 1997, a group of visionary parents set out to create a school unlike any other in Vancouver. With the support of the French Embassy in Canada, they established a small institution combining the French and British Columbian curricula. Starting with just 25 students, their dream grew into the French International School of Vancouver—a vibrant community of 250 students representing over 30 nationalities.
In 2013, the school embraced an ecological orientation, becoming a proud advocate for environmental responsibility. Adding “Cousteau” to its name, in honour of the legendary French ocean explorer, the school affirmed its dedication to sustainability and environmental education. Joining the global network of Eco-Schools, Cousteau proudly waves the green flag, symbolizing its commitment to nurturing a respect for the planet in every child.
